Since we spent 3 days in Athens a few years ago…and remembering how much Rich loved the food in Athens!!!! we opted for a 1/2 day tour to Cape Sounion provided by Jordon Daioglou. This 1/2 day tour began with a curvy, coastal drive to the Temple of Poseidon, the God of the seas. Unfortunately, since there were strikes called by the workers at the Archeological sites and also by the transportation workers, we cancelled our tour and will just walk around Pireus. Really did not feel like getting involved in a demonstration. Apparently the taxi drivers decided not to strike but by this time we had decided to not take a chance…
Charlie and I just took the little trolley for a ride around town. Not really much to see but did buy a bottle of wine and some ouzo…that should be good for a “Friday night social”. Then it was back to the ship to cool it for the rest of the day.
